INTRODUCTION POST | #1

Hello, my little specimens! 🦠

Allow me to properly introduce myself, my name is Yok Wongkachonkitti, otherwise known as ANYA MANIA! I am a freelance sustainable artist and aspiring zoologist who prioritizes awareness and education. I sincerely believe empathy is the key to progressing towards a better future. I am based in Virginia, and am right next to Washington D.C!

So... I had a revelation to start a blog recently! I realized how much I've been severely lacking in a writing outlet for many years, roughly ever since I stopped using Tumblr back around 2016. I remembered how it allowed for me to type out my feelings, rather than draw or record them for social media like I feel pressured to do in order to stay relevant.

So, I'm excited to announce that I will be making regularly-scheduled blog posts on my website, early access will be on my Patreon and my newsletter!

Well, what's my main purpose?

It's to give you a little piece of my brain! Well, not literally. I wanted to create educated, but not professional, think-pieces that range in importance of subjects just to give some food for thought or perhaps, ideally teach you something new or give you a new perspective!

Some popular topics or themes I will be discussing will relate to art, science (specifically zoology and conservation), business, and perhaps social issues. The scope of my blog may range from elaborate shower thoughts or journal entries, to a full blown pseudo-research papers, depending on my interest levels.

In this day and age, I would be lying if I said I wasn't inclined to lean on AI to help me organize my ideas or with clarity. I cannot 100% guarantee that I won't utilize it, but if I do, it would only take up 5% or less of my actual product, as I'm adamant on making my blogs authentically my voice. I'm going to do my best to generally NOT use it, though (I'll let you know if and how I used it, if I do).

I am definitely not short on topics as I have an entire Notion page dedicated to potential ideas, but it never hurts to explore things that maybe I wasn't aware of, as well!
